having started recording in bands in the 80s and 90s, we have seen a growing obsession with compression, separation and emulation.

whilst there is a place in the modern studio for all of these things, and we all record using DAWs nowadays, we felt a shift in approach was long overdue. back to the future!

we prefer to treat all instruments as acoustic. that’s not to say we don’t DI as well, but we tend to use DI to blend with the Mic input. we try and get a sound from the amplifiers and not use too many effects. above all, we want you to sound like you.
